Probably another stupid question

I recently purchased a 73 John Deere 110 flat fender garden tractor with 38" (cut?) I want to mow 2 1/2" and do not see or can find any reference to cutting height. I turned the knob all the way high for a starting spot then what? Also where can one buy a manual?

Park on a level area. Concrete is best. Then measure under the deck from the concrete to the bottom of the blade. Adjust to 2 1/2 inches.
