Problem 6115D

I know this is a newer tractor but thought someone may help. I have old iron also. Problem is had to replace complete JD new engine in 6115. Long block -blower. We do contract work for TXDOT mowing ROW. Pulling 15 ft shredder working it 12 hr days. It use's 2 1/2 gallon oil a day since day one. No leaks-no smoke. Pulls good runs good.Just watch oil close every day until we finish next month. JD don't know what to do. May have to take down to see at our expense if not something JD did.???? Spent $$$$$ on it. Anyone have any ideal or have had this problem?

Are you stating engine was replaced with long block & continues to loose oil? That 4.5L engine has been utilized in many different applications. I suppose air cleaner & associated parts were checked for blockage?

Replaced with new engine and it has used oil from day one.Everything has been
checked.Even different shops. Old engine didn't use oil but operator (if you want to
call them that) LOL lost oil cap and just continued running it and destroyed it.It's
a good engine-we have 10 tractors and this is the first. Most never use oil.

Wouldn't replaced engine be covered under JD parts warranty?

What part of Texas do you mow the highway ditches?

It's covered if they did something wrong. But we pay labor and repair if they think
we did something. JD shop not cheap.Their warranty is not much these days. Monday-Comanche--Ozona--Chillress--Sonora--
Sterling City--Brownwood.

Did you use Deere breakin oil for the first 100 hours or until oil usage diminished. If you are using a synthetic or a synthetic blend the rings will never seat

It was oil that JD put in it. ?????? We use Rotella.
