have any of you herd about pti (produce tracabuilty inititive) how will this effect the small produce grower and the ones that sell at farmers markets and auctions will our produce need some kind of 666 stamp from the external_link administration

It appears to me to be an industry developed program not a government program with roots in the Canadian produce marketing association. As I read it, it applies to produce entering the wholesale supply chain, not direct marketing from the grower to the consumer, PROVIDED the grower is not reselling.

I dont see it as any different than providing traceability to beef, pork, or poultry. I produce good stuff, and know what's happened to it until it leaves my farm. If there is a problem with any of my stuff, anywhere up the line, I want to know so I can fix it.
