Here , this might help you to read the numbers . El Toro appears to be right , though .
On an engine with the Code numbers of 01061201, the first 01 is the year - 2001 in this case , the next two numbers 06 is the month - June in this case , and the next two numbers 12 is the day , and the last two numbers 01 is the assembly line and mfg. plant . So this engine was made June 12, 2001 at whatever plant and assembly line the 01 stands for .
