Project Chicken Bones - Update

Well, progress has been slow....its the heat! I have been up at my place briefly both of the last two weekends and was only able to work on the project after 7:00 pm. Its too hot. I may have been in better shape...maybe if my tent canopy did not crater earlier in the spring. It maybe time to buy another.

Anyway, the last weekend has been frustrating. I am at the part where knowing what order to put what on would help. This is my first 8N project and I have already jumped ahead in some places making it harder to get other parts on. Plus those screws...you know the ones that look and work fine when you test them at home and then seem to dork up when you are trying to bolt them on to the tractor? Finally, every slip of the wrench at this stage has potential to mess up the paint...

Anyway, over all I am having fun. I wish I could have ONE day of 75 degrees temp and I would have her at least running. That is not going to happen until October, so I am going to continue to do my evening sessions.

All words of encouragement are appreciated.

If you are going to use the tractor, don't sweat a scratch or chip, soon covered in dirt. If for show, that is what touch up paint is for. Looking good & I do understand the heat. Was out doing a little (all I could take) fence work at 101 degrees & 67 years & finally said to myself, "hey stupid, stop!".

Looks great! I don't think I can help much with the weather. I am in a similar spot, just painted and now every little activity seems to create paint issues. Lots of pictures of mine in the gallery here: http://www.bigjohnstractor.com

Hang in there, you will be driving her in no time.
