Proofmeter hour meter question

My 51 has an aftermarket proofmeter that had 6 hours on it when I bought the tractor and it has worked flawlessly right up to 100.0 hrs the other day and then the hourmeter quit! The tach still works fine but not the hm. Any idea what happened? And exactly at 100.0? Seems like a Chinese plot to me...

Counter probably hung up. Might try disconnecting the cable from the governor and running it backwards a bit with a reversible drill then back again to see if the counter will go over the top.
