Proper Tire Pressure

I'm wonder what pressure I should run in my 20.8 R 38 rears on my 4630? I got it with about 22# in them but if I remember right, I read that radials give better traction at 10# to 12#. Just looking for a little more traction when blowing snow.

I?ve ran radials as low as ten psi . The only problem
is I have one rim that has been eaten by calcium
and if I let it that low I get a flat tire even though I?ve
had the tire apart and cleaned and painted the rim
four or five times finally had to replace the other rim
because it would not clean up kept puncturing the
tube no matter what I did

20.8.38 tire will carry 7650 pounds at 22 psi single
6160 duals 9 psi will carry 4540

Thanks for the info. I run the radials on my 55 hp open station tractor at 12# and that worked good. Right now we've had enough snow and then warm and then snow and then warm, that the hard pack has gotten kind of icy and I thought a larger footprint might help.

When determining weight per tire, how do you calculate that? Is the weight of the tractor divided by the sum of the tires or do the rears carry more than the front?

It depends how they are ballasted but I?ve found the
rear to be heavier on my 2 wheel drives would be
nice if you had a truck scale near you could weigh lt

If you weighed 18000 and 65% was on the rear you
could go to 14 psi without any worry going by the
book

I?m sure somebody has practical experience
