Protectant For Seat

Just looking for opinions on what is the best protectant product to use on the vinyl seat on my Ford 3000?
Want to protect it from the sun when show time starts this summer and it is sitting outside all day.

I agree with covering the seat to block direct sunlight. I am a big fan of Meguiars 57 Marine/RV Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner & Protectant. I have been using it on all my vinyl seats for over 20 years.

buy 1 of those cheep 4 post canopys you see at shows with tractor
under it and owners settin beside it in shade

(quoted from post at 13:08:46 05/24/23) How bout a canvas or polyester tarp? Use Bungy Cords to secure from wind, snow, and rain.

Sorry, guess I should have been more specific. I'm not looking to cover it. Just wondering if anyone found a product like Armor All that works better.

(quoted from post at 14:23:51 05/24/23) I would keep that show girl under a roof.
Nice tractor.

It is kept inside. But it will be going to 3 or 4 parades/fairs this summer.
I rarely see any Ford's in my area so I guess it's up to me to represent Ford around home.

Mike ..... good comment. Armour All has a ton of newer products on the market now, perhaps all are improved over the original version which has been around forever. I started using it in the late 70's on the dashboard, tires, vinyl upholstery, plastic trim, etc. on a brand new van I bought. I found that it tended to make the plastic or rubber brittle and discoloured (brownish) .... especially tires. That was my take on it anyways. A solution was to keep doing it and the symptoms went away (for a while) until reapplication. I told that story to a friend and he said that his name for it was 'heroin' because once you started using it you had to keep it up. Personally, for whatever time the Ford tractor in this post is out in the sun I wouldn't put any of that stuff on the seat.

No, not original seat. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I just like to be proactive and keep stuff nice.
Not sure the quality of those aftermarket seats. That's why I didn't know if it would be a good idea to put something on it when I take to the shows.

I would not spray a protectorate on the seat as those can be slick and could change the color.

The garbage bag suggestion, or ear mark $200 to replace the seat cushions in 10 to 20 years would be my approach. Until then the seat will sun fade in step with the paint fading and they will look right together. Enjoy your tractor.

(quoted from post at 01:21:19 05/25/23) If it only sits outside at shows and is shedded the rest of the time I don't think you need to worry
about sun fade.

Okay. Just being paranoid. I actually just did a search and I found those seats, and not a bad price, so no worries now.
