PTO drive shaft

Looking to buy
a PTO drive shaft. 29" minimum length. Accidentally bent mine. I have a Rhino Servis SAT8 rotary mower.

Commonly available at Tractor Supply and other stores of the type.

Might find a direct fit, more likely will need to go the cut to length route.

Is your driveshaft the rectangular style or newer triangular European style pto shaft? If rectangular type that type can be straightened using a hyd press & replacing tubing

I have the square tubing. Their outer tube is bent with the square tube inside. I can t separate the two.

If you have the capabilities to do it your driveline can be repaired reasonably by welding a new shaft and tube to the yokes.

If you aren't able to do it yourself you may be able to find a reasonably-priced complete unit at the link below.

Those drivelines are designed to be cut to length.

Heat the tube and it will relive the stress some and you can probably pull it out if hooked to a post and the other end tied to something to pull with like a drawbar with a come along. Or cut the tube off so it will come out. Be carefull to not cut the shaft when you do.

bending to straighten is a big joke the outside is light material and it will just get flat where you try and straighted just
saw off each end and replace with new steel or just go and buy a new one

Straightening solid square or rectangular male pto shaft is no big joke depending on severity of bend. Yes tubing can't be straightened & must be replaced which can be done. Sleeve on end of tubing can be reused if it wasn't ruined during bending process. Or a new sleeve can be purchased.

Thanks for the great ideas. I will cut out the bent tube and square tube and add on new ends. Thanks guys for helping. I really didn t want to buy a new one. Take care.

Straightening enough to get the square out or even cutting the tube was meant to get it apart not necessarily to weld new pieces on to it. You need to make sure the old piece you are going to use will be true or they can spin in an unbalance way causing more harm to the drive line, gearbox, and even the PTO shaft in the tractor. Not saying to not fix ust keep in mind that the out come could be different than you plan spending more money that a new drive shaft would cost in the end. I have done some fixing to PTO shafts and also replaced some depending on what and how much load was on them.
