PTO help with MF 383

[58 Deere]

My Uncle took the rear PTO plate off to change the leaking PTO seal. Installed new seal and reinstalled the PTO shaft and plate. Now the PTO does not work. It will not turn. I am trying to help but would like some information first as what to look for. All information will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello Rebert welcome to YT! 58 Deere has not posted on here since Oct. ‘16. Very likely he is long gone. Hopefully someone else will chime in and answer. Here is just some info about things you should be aware of posting here.
You can view when someone was last seen by or participated by hovering your mouse over their “avatar” the ID that shows beside (or above their post on a phone, you also have to click their username on a phone to view this) This was a feature added when the software platform of these forums was updated in late Dec. ‘23. So basically if a member does not show up as “seen” in ‘24 they are probably not active. Meaning they have not logged into view under their username. Occasionally you have the lurker that is revived and pops in but they a few and far between. Also when you view their profile where it shows a number by “Messages” that is the number of posts they have made. Clicking that number brings up their entire posting history to see the “Threads” they posted in.
