PTO Oil Seal

I have a TO20 with the 1 1/8 PTO shaft. I want to replace the oil seal but I only see the seal for the 1 3/8 shaft. Does anyone know if there is a seal available for the smaller shaft or do I need to replace the shaft assembly?

The 1-1/8 shaft has a small sleeve on the end of the shaft held on with a snap ring. The seal rides on the sleeve. The -20 and -30 use the same seal. Dimentions in parts manual are 1-5/8 x 2-1/2 x 7/8 p/n 195763M1. I got one at the local MF dealer that fit. It was a little narrower than original but worked fine. They are available you don't have to change to the larger shaft. Not sure if the 1-3/8 shaft seal will work since I don't have the OD diam. of the sleeve. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. When I posted my question I had already ordered the seal listed as for the 1 3/8's shaft and was assuming I would have a problem. I then saw the same seal listed for 2N, 8N, 9N's as for 1 1/8 - 1 3/8 which was confusing at first. After the seal I ordered arrived I looked a little more closely at my shaft and realized the sleeve makes up the difference in diameter. The seal I have is only 5/8 deep instead of 7/8 which the old one was. I probably should have ordered from a MF dealer if theirs is 7/8.

I'm not optimistic about actually getting the shaft sealed. My sleeve shows some wear and I didn't order a new one. I had the seal pressed in today. Since it was narrower than the old one, they tried to position over an area of less wear. I'll put it together this weekend and see what it does.

I would like to get a new assembly just to have everything new and tight plus the splines on mine are beat up and worn. I probably would have except I'd also need a new override clutch and that runs the cost up even more
