pto removal for a 8n

Drain the oil. Shift the PTO INTO gear (keeps the shift collar in place).

Remove the 4 bolts at the rear, and withdraw the shaft. If it won't come out, you can TRY LOOSENING the bolts that retain the hydraulic pump to the tractor's belly, and wiggling the pump around a bit.

Don't get too rough, or you'll muck up the internals of the pump.

If it doesn't come out, you'll need to remove the lift cover assembly, and probably cut the shaft with a Sawzall.

Then, drop the pump, and get the remians of the shaft out of the pump.
