The parent company of this website sells complete "drivelines" reasonably

I can't seem to find the page where they are all listed at the moment, but here's one example.

Mite need to give 'em a call.

If you weld you can make your own by buying the parts and welding it up but you also have to make sure it is in time. Or a salvage yard or some scrap iron places sell parts for the price of weight value

Are you talking about the PTO shaft in the tractor or the mower connecting shaft?

Caryc: I would take it to be fairly self explanatory, he said his “my Bush Hog ain’t worth that” so a replacement telescopic PTO shaft is how I see it.
Well, the way I see it, the PTO shaft is in the tractor. The mower shaft is on the mower. Get it? Mower shaft, not PTO shaft.

If tsc has it safe to say it’s not the tractor side of anything

that being said I’d just replace the part that you need to replace 400 sounds like a whole unit but what to you need? A cross or a yoke or something can cheapen this repair up

I wish it was just a yoke. The square shafts have wore round and spin inside of one-another. The u-joints are also starting to get sloppy and are an odd size so i just want to put a new common size shaft/joints on it.

The U joints can be replaced by taking them to an auto parts tore and have them measure them and the shaft well again a farm and home stroe should have blanks that can then be welded to the yokes. I've done it many times over the years

The TSC in my area does have a lot of parts to make up a whole new mower shaft if one needs to. They have the "U" joint that hooks to the tractors PTO and this piece for the other end of the shaft. It needs to be welded to the new shaft. It has the square hole in it that slides over the square mower shaft. They also have the round mower shaft to put those new ends on so you can make it any length you want. If I remember right I think they had square shafts for the mowers too. As FixingFarmer said TSC does not have replacements for the actual tractors PTO shaft.

I had a 47 ft grain auger blow over years ago. I took straight 8 ft section and built me an 8 ft electric jump auger. I believe the pto shaft is still laying behind the barn. You can just have it if it would work for you. But how do we get it out to you? I'm in so. Mn.

Your the flying belgian...fly it there. Sorry, I couldn't resist. That is very generous of you.

It does sound like you are better off replacing the whole thing the ASAP part number 124795 might be worth a look. You will have to measure your length and give them a call. There isn’t anything wrong with the tsc ones they are plenty heavy built but this will be a quarter of the price. Stay away from the lock collar type if you can you want the push pin style release

Have you checked Agri Supply? I purchased two class or group 4 shaft assemblies with slip clutch from them pre 2020 at very reasonable price. A#4 38 in. closed position with slip clutch is $249+ change right now.

I need to replace the shaft for a 5 foot tiller and I have 37hp PTO. Been shopping around and I see prices all over the place. How do I know if the shaft is heavy enough. Is there a number or code or series to look for?
