PTO Shaft

[Broken wheel]

Have a 48 A with a bent pto shaft. Took everything off down to the bearing. Shaft wouldn't come out. Took bolts and three nuts off of gearbox. Shaft and gearbox came out about the width of the bearing and stopped. Came up against something solid inside rockshaft housing. Watched a video on U-tube. Shaft and gearbox came right out. I'm puzzled What could be stopping it from coming out? Drawing shows a snap ring on shaft on the back side of the rock shaft. All replies appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

It's a snap ring holding the pto shaft in just like the drawing shows.
You have to remove the rockshaft housing to get access to the snap ring.
