Would you buy a $100 pto shaft for a brush hog.
It's used a couple time a year at best.
It's a king cutter 5' on a 50 hp tractor.

Probably not cause I usually get them from auctions for $20 an put them in the pile for such occasions
But if I needed one yea sure

I'm in ontarto canada with no ag dealers close (hr + one way) and our equivalent to HF is princess auto.
They are much more expensive there.
My go to place for stuff has been Amazon.
Need a 1.384" which translates darn close to 1 3/8 round bore with a 540 on the other end.
Only paid $250 for the cutter but it need some love.

Cutter without a shaft should be cheap. Shaft sounds cheap. Just make sure it fits and has a fair return policy in case of surprises.

As others have said, cutter is no good without the shaft. One difference between you and me is, I would have made that decision before I bought the cutter. Not being able to spell the Province/State I live in may be another difference.

I've got a Vevor shaft on a feed mixer my boy made for 4H. Not near the same load, but its a pretty well built shaft. I'd trust it on a mower.
