PTO Trouble on JD 850

My pto will not disangage when the clutch is pressed ,pto only stops when taken out of gear, main clutch works fine ,pto grines a bit when engaging. can anyone help???

It sounds like the PTO clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel- a relatively common occurrence. Try putting a heavy load on the PTO (like a bush hog in heavy brush) while "riding" the clutch. It should shake it loose. Otherwise, you'll have to get at it and free it up by hand. If parking it for an extended time, put a spacer block under the clutch pedal linkage to release the pressure om the clutch plate to prevent its sticking.
