Went to a pull today and watch some nice tractors pulling. I heard a guy talking to his friend that ask him why wasn't he pulling is m farmall in the stock class that was 5000 pound and he told him that his tractor could not pull stock because he didn't have a working pto . There was some others that could not also pull because of that.

Club north of us has a rule like that. They will check your hp if they think you are running more than stock. Why go to a pull like that?

Went to a pull where the pto cover had to be "OEM'- asked head man what was their intent for this rule, said he didn't know.

Thanks for the reply fellas it just seem that with all these rules it will keep guys from pulling. I think that they should go away from some of these like this speed limit 3 to 4 mph, and that grosser bar they drop when the box is up to the top. If it is about safety I would put that speed limit on them smokers and grosser bars because how fast they go and wild they are. Don't get me wrong I like them but when they brag on how fast they go down the track then how far, really that's pulling. I know why they do it is because a lot of pulling is won by inches and when they drop that bar the faster there going the farther they are down on the track. What ever happen to were you pulled down the track and didn't have to watch the speed thing and you watch the track to miss the soft spots and could maybe get a full pull.

JD man, I have been pulling for over twenty years, and it has been probably fifteen years since I have hooked to a dyno. There were a lot of guys disappointed to see the results of that. At many pulls however, they check RPMs, and it is usually done from the PTO. It is done primarily for safety because the insurance companies don't like big payouts.

Thanks for the reply. We all like safe and good pulls. At this one pull I went to the first, second and third tractors were all put on a dyno to see if they were over the power they should have and if so dq. It seem to work good to have a stock pull.
