I have a 7711 so yours may be different. The transmission and hydraulic oil are together, on mine the dip stick is a screw plug to the right rear of the gearshift lever.

To engage pto, first pull up the pto clutch lever to the left of the seat. Push foot clutch all the way in, wait a few seconds for the gears to spin down. Oh, engine should be at slow idle before starting this. Then push pto lever which is the left one of the 2 levers forward. Engage pto clutch and see if pto is working.

If you can't engage pto lever with out gears grinding, try engaging pto lever with the engine off.

Mine shows a 1000 rpm pto in the rear position, 540 for forward position. Try both.

It's possible the clutch is worn. To check for worn clutch, pull pto clutch lever up, put tractor in gear, let out foot clutch slowly. If clutch chatters and grabs, this means the clutch is worn.

I assume you have a manual.

Hope this helps. Post back if you need anything else.
