Pull behind fertilizer spreader

Looking for pull behind fertilizer spreader that I can control from lawn mower seat. Which is best drop seed or cyclone ? Thanks

Cyclone spreaders work best for fertilizing lawns. Apply at half rate and go over twice in different directions for even coverage.

Drop spreaders require exact placement. An inch or two of gap or overlaps leaves highly visible streaks in the lawn.

Has anyone bought a Yard Commander YTL-002-179 ? Any Good ? I have looked at A....F.. but reviews weren't too good. Thanks for any help.

Lawn drop spreaders are good for Lime.

Cyclone spreader for fertilizer. With a drop spreader you run the risk of burning the grass in strips. Especially when applying nitrates.

Just give Camilla a call. Saturday we had our spring cleaning day at church. I asked ten year old Camilla if she wanted to spread the fertilizer and lime. I was joking because I didn't think she could. She told me that she would, so I loaded the walk behind rotary lightly and gave her instructions and a little guidance and she was off! She was even loading it herself after I poured some off the bags. She did a great job!

Check your local hardware store or Home Depot or Lowes or Menards or rental yard for renting a rotary fertilizer spreader, I've rented one 5-6 times and I'm no where close to what the cost of one is in rental fees.
And the suggestion to spread in two directions 90 degrees apart is good advice.

One of the last times I fertilized I poured 5 pounds of grass seed on top of the fertilizer in the spreader and drove 300-400 feet into the back yard and spread the hopper of fertilizer and grass seed. I didn't think about that until about Sept. The following year while mowing, had been 5-6 weeks since I last mowed. The grass was 1-1/2 feet tall, dense, no weeds, the weed & feed worked, normally had been almost all weeds, no grass. THAT was 12-14 years ago and that part of the yard is some of the best grass I have.
