This 39 m hasn't been on the track, or started since 1996. Need to pull it to the shop, change oil. tune up, dyno check, matbe some paint. Load on the trailor and go pull this summer.

That's another good looking old '39, I'm jealous. I got to agree though, I think I would throw an air cleaner on, but then again you are probably running a filter right off the carb.

What does this tractor weigh in at? Looks light to me. 4400lb? Is that an M&W governor? Looks like a pretty good place to start for a pulling project.

Seems like for a "stock" class the older M"s pull very well, say from around 48 down. Low gear is slower then ones from the 50"s, or could just be me.
How to heck do you get an M down to 4200 pounds or so?
With ours stripped down, wide front it can just make 5500. Don"t know where another 1000 could come from.

that wide front is very heavy. no belly pump. pto removed. single front wheel is light. pressed steel wheels on rear
