pulling hood on JD70

What's the proper way to pull the hood on a 70? Seems there ought to be a coupler or snap ring in the gear box. I'm assuming you pull the steering gear box and take the whole maryann out the front??? Thanks Ed B in Oregon

Take off the front section first then there should be a pin holding the steering shaft in, take out that pin and slide shaft out the back of hood
