Pulling Steering Wheel

I have pulled a few in my time, but this is easily the worst
62 Ford 4000D 4 cylinder w/ power steering. Rear end sure is rusty so she may have sat out a minute
I have been spraying PB and have kept pressure from the puller on for many weeks now. Tapping gently around the exterior of the wheel to maybe break the rust bond. Wheel is clearly bending upwards
Any suggestions? Am I missing something? Do not have a legit torch but have a handheld that I am a little afraid to try

A hand grinder with a cut off wheel. Make a slice down one side of the hub, plastic and all. Right through to the shaft. It will come off after that. You're going to throw it away anyway now.

I also would cut it with a grinder take it slow and dont cut too deep so you ruin the shaft .

New ones don't cost that much, so it is not worth a lot of time. I pulled one a few weeks ago. I had penetrating oil on it for a few weeks in advance, then I put a puller on the hub, tapped on the puller screw and she popped. Why are you pulling on the wheel instead of the hub??

That is a good question. Ive only ever pulled them this way
but Ill switch it up and try to pull on the hub instead.

You can get a bearing splitter for about $13 from Amazon, use with a steering wheel puller they work great.

You can make a puller from a piece of flat stock. Drill 3 holes in it and drill and tap the hub of wheel for 1/4 or 5/16 threads. thread 2 bolts into hub and use the center hole to thread a bolt with nut on the bottom and pull on gear box shaft. That will save the steering wheel.

You have no pulling power there in that set up, yes you will just bend the wheel. Plus tapping will do nothing. Get a good size brass drift and a 2 lb ball peen and hit that hub as hard as you can I bet it will pop right off. Or even an air punch and vibrate on the side for a while she will pop off. No tapping aloud! Pretend your mad at it.

I have been a little gentle with it but there are plenty of emotions to pull from and Ill give it the business. Did not want to damage anything on the inside of the steering housing but I plan to replace any and every seal/bearing thats still available. The power steering is intermittent at best and Id like to get it up to snuff. I will report back after I get into it this weekend

Reporting back that this bearing pulling tool that I secured
with a coupon from HF made this an absolute piece of cake.
Literally 2 revolutions of the 11/16 wrench and the wheel
gently popped.
