push garden plow

was wondering if anyone knew where to get partd for the old time garden plows/ cultivator? i have 2 that were Dad"s. one i just had to get handles for. The other one is all metal. The hand grip is missing. it is a waffle looking thing that i belive is cast. I will try to load a picture. as always thanks for any help

Actually that's a cultivator, and you are pretty much out of luck as far as parts go if it's an antique one.

The only way you'll find new parts is to go to garage sales, estate sales, auctions, etc., and look for one just like it. Then you can hopefully combine them together to make one good unit.

If you want to take up blacksmithing, you could forge your own replacement parts.

Paying a blacksmith to make the replacement parts will probably far exceed the value of the cultivator, both monetary and sentimental.
 
You might check with the guys that build reproduction handles for walking plows. They normally advertise in Green and Two Cylinder Club magazines.
 
your post said you "had" to get handles. If it is handles you need, I always see themn in the handle section of the local farm store.

Same place I got my new shovel handle.
 
i am in central missouri. i appreciate all the input. i was after the metal handle like you are talking about. i got wood ones for the tother one i fixed up. boy it looks nice. thank you. do you have a picture and a or a price. Thank you
