Well during the tornado clean up. I melted a piston in my 064 stihl So being a power fanatic tractor Puller. I order two big bore kits. One to modify and one for back up if went to far. Here is my opinion on quench. Its nothing more than a compression increase for horsepower. Saw started with new jug at 120 psi cranking compression removed base gasket to lower jug came up with 150 psi and still not within optimum quench measurements. So to the milling machine jug went ..machine jug till piston hit then set quench to. 020 by using gasket material. This also change the duration of the transfer slots for the two stroke in the know guys. So my conclusion horsepower is still produced by compression increase cam duration increase and cubicinch increase. No matter what other words you want to call it
