Question About Installing A New Coil

Hi Y'all, I took today off to install the 12V conversion kit I purchased from nnalert on my 1949 8n. Everything was going smoothly until I put the new coil on top of the distributor cap. It is loose and flops around pretty easily. The old 6V on was on there very tightly.

How tight should the coil be on the cap? I installed a new gasket but that doesn't take up enough slop. I tried to slightly reform the holding clip and that helped but I am hesitant to deform it too much.

Thanks,

Nate

ight. Insert a piece of old hose or the like between wire bale & coil.

Sounds like you may have had the attack from the land of almost right LOL. Yep as JMOR say many ways to tighten one up. A piece of fuel line or cardboard etc between the coil and the bale works well
