Noticed you questioned if engine was changed in your M a few days ago. Think you posted somewhere that the engine number is 281064.
Just wondering would your tractor serial # happen to be 294064?

What is it? Just a carry-over engine from '51 and line stamped into the '52 tractor?

Noticed a long time ago that for some reason from around 1949 on up on M tractors, most have the engine serial # so many even 1000 behind the tractor serial #. How many 1000 varies but your range falls into 13000 behind tractor. You have the original engine in tractor.
Your tractor is late enough to come with the same size crank journals as a SM. You missed being late enough for disc brakes and some other stuff by a little. Tractor was built in feb. 52. Date code on castings will be the date they were cast and most times the date code will be before 2 month of 52 and back into 51.
