Question for bruce tip 48

Bruce, I'm unsure if you wrote the 50 tips but you quote them allot so thinking you might have.

My question ahs to do with tip 48. I agree i need one of these you got any pictures or is there a kit. One would be really nice to have for the front end loader, we are going to modify it to have ground breaking force.

Tip 48 parking brake.

N's have parking brakes!. There is a little pawl (toothed lever) on each brake acutuating mechanism that holds the brake.

I will go look for this little lever. Can i activate while sitting in the seat or is it out of reach.

You can reach it with part of your but touching the seat but you will almost be upside down! lol

There is one on each side of the seat down on the brake pivot for that wheel.

brian that is what i was looking for, will come in real handy. That way i can setup on a spot for the loader and set the parking break

Yea, the brake pawls on the N's are the OEM "parking brakes". But, it takes a person with a lot more dexterity than me to set them! And, worse than that, they disengage at the slightest touch on the brake pedal. That's why all 4 of my N's have the Red Rock brakes.

Regarding the 50 Tips, "compiled" is probably a more accurate term than "wrote"! I had a few of my own from personal experience, but a lot of them were contributed by folks here on the YT board.

I don't see a problem with the OEM parking brakes.I have no dificulty reaching the pawls.---lha

I have the ARNCO brake on one of my N's, and it works OK as long as the brakes are adjusted up pretty well. When they get a bit loose, I use the pawls until I can tighten up the adjuster, as they provide more locking force once the brakes get a bit worn. Also, the pawls will lock both brakes & the ARNCO just does the left brake.
