Question on A steering knuckle

On each of my A steering knuckles there is an opening on the back side opposite where the spindle comes out. It almost looks like a grease fitting should be there but the hole is not threaded. Can anyone advise about this? Thanks.

If it was original there would be a threaded place and a zerk would be thre BUT its an old tractor and who knows what has been changed in the last 50 lss yrs.

I'm picturing my A in my mind. The spindle has a zerk. The pivot under the radiator has one. The tie rod ends have one (can't remember whether the center has one on each inner end or one for the two). I think that's it other than the top of the steering box. I have always thought the steering arms at the top of the spindle looked funny because the back end is open. On every other tractor I have it is a cast piece, not a couple of pieces put together. The A was the entry level for the bigger farmer (row crop bigger than a cub could do), so it is kind of rough around the edges. Like that growling transmission.

Thr A came out in 1939 the CUB in 1947 both were great tractors then and many are still in use today how many others can match their numbers still alive and working.
