Question on propane tractors

So I got a dumb question here. Grandma has
a 1958 620 lp tractor. I was thinking
bout driving it 15 miles to a tractor show
abd then back to her shed. Question is
how far can you go with propane tractors
I've done this drive before but dad always
told me it had enough in it and dummy me
never looked to see how full it was. We
just had it filled up to 60percent does
anyone have any idea how far you can go on
60 percent.

I believe they always tried to size fuel tanks be it gas, diesel, or lp to run a day at a time. Results vary with work being done.

That's what I heard too, most equipment has a big enough fuel tank to work at least 8 hours. A 15 mile drive should only be about an hour each way, but I don't think 60% is full, 80% is the standard.

Okay thanks for the information. I think I may try it guess if I gave to I can always park it at a friend's shop and have the gas company come fill it to get it back home.

I had a hose made so I can hook up a bbq bottle for spare fuel.

I would agree with the others, a full tank should run about 8 hours.

We've been using my 70lp for raking hay. I had the tank filled before haying started, still at 45% today after about 14-15 hours of raking + around 20 miles of road driving between fields in the last couple weeks. Mine was at 85% when filled.

I can cut hay wwith a disk mower on my 3020lp for about 7 hours a tank.
