not sure what I still need? Everything falls apart. I have tried to upload a picutre but it didnot work. I have the valve, quide, spring, retainer and keys. They are loose and fall apart. I dont have an original to look at. I can send a picture of what I have if someone can help. Let me know. thanks in advance.

Are you trying to install them into the engine?

Do you have 1 or 2 piece guides?

Do you have a valve spring compresser for a small or L head engine?

Install the valve guide with seal on intake, install keeper on guide. install valve, spring, retainer and retaining clips. Use valve spring compressor for flat head engine. Good luck

You need to install them in the block to get the correct distance between the top of the guide and the valve. When you assemble them, the guide can slide up
the valve stem toward the head further than normal and cause excessive clearance at the (opposite) keeper end. Once the entire valve assemblies are placed in
the block and the valve's downward travel is limited by the seat in the block and the guide is locked in place by that funky crescent shaped guide retainer,
then tension is provided by the springs to push down upon the keepers and lock them in place.

But yeah, when putting the parts together initially, they can be loose enough to fall apart. Use a bit of grease to hold them together until you can drop them
in their respective holes.

This picture doesnt show the later exhaust valves with the rotater end caps...
