question on year

Serial # is FBH 375538X As near as I can find out this should be on a 1951 Farmall H am I correct?

Well, could I caution you here? My 1950 H has a casting date code for 1950 for the engine, and for the label plate, but a 1951 casting date for the transmission half. My belief, since I bought it from an old IHC mechanic, is he put it together from two tractors. You might check all the casting date codes.

Check your casting dates. The latest date is a clue to the year it was assembled.
I have a F-20 with 1940 casting dates which means it was assembled in 1940 - a 1940 F-20. I know the F-20 officially ended in 1939 but IHC never threw anything away. For a few more pieces, they had another tractor to sell.
