Questions about 6000 Commander

Bought a 6000 Ford Commander and it has 3 rows of number where the serial number is:
6 B 9
62015E
diamond 127820 diamond
I know that the 127820 is the serial number, but can someone tell me what the other two numbers mean? Does anyone have a source where I might find a good steering wheel? Thanks for the information

Model Number:
6 = 6000
20 = Row crop
1 = Diesel
5 = Independent PTO
E - SOS Trans

Serial Number indicates 1960 model

6B9- Are you sure the 6 is not a 0?
0B9 would be 1960 Feb 9th

I am pretty sure that it is a 6. The grill is like the blue and gray not the red and gray. Could it have been recalled and remanufactured because the front is different than the early ones. Thanks.

After checking my serial # info, my sheet shows 1966 models started with serial #124200 and 1967 models started with #161300 which puts yours at a 1966 model (Sorry awhtx, not tryin to pick a fight)

That makes sense- 6B9 is 1966 Feb 9th. I thought I had read some where that the early 6000's were serial numbered sequentially with the X01 tractors. Maybe when production of the 2000/4000 series began in 1962 Ford separated the 6000 serial numbers.

I rechecked all the numbers and what I posted was correct. I was afraid that maybe the transmission had been replaced. That made me happy to know that it is a 1966
