Questions on TD20C

I have posted a few questions and you guys have been very helpful on the new toy I bought. The Serial Number is 4260125U025430. I bought it to be a 1973 model. Is this correct based on the serial number? Is there anything else the serial number will tell me about the machine in terms of how it was equipped/spec from the factory? I have been tinkering with the tensioner and noticed it has a grease zerk on the outer most side of the machine but it also has a plug beside it? What is that plug for?
One final question for now....the tilt works in one direction (pushes the cylinder out but will not retract when I move the lever in the opposite direction). I see nothing apparently wrong visually. Any ideas on the problem??

Thanks in advance for your help

Did not read full post at first sorry! Check to see if hyd. spool is moving the same amout in both directions I've seen where grud builds up in the spool end so it can't move far enough in one direction.hope this helps.

Thanks Ron! I will look at it tomorrow and give you an update. Makes sense since it works okay in one direction but doesn't even whine in the other direction.

NWC The Correct way to release the track tensionis back out the PLUG as you call it only 3 turns. That is a boldt with sloted grooves down the side will let the grease ease out very slow.
