Quick hitch

There is a guy trying to sell me a quick hitch off of a 620 does
anybody know how much it is worth I havnt seen it yet going to
look at it this weekend. What to look for on it as far as wear
and damage?

To my knowledge there was no factory quick hitch offered from factory for a 2 cylinder tractor. If QH is for later model JD I'd guess $250-$400 depending on style & condition.

If an early JD quick hitch, the lower arms are to wide to fit most implements so I have one and it's mostly useless.

Is this style Quick-hitch ,[JD factory, come out 1960 with 10 series, New Gen. tractors.. Your looking at ; or are you thinking a 3pt. hitch for 620..... Or a aftermarket quick hitch..

I have sold many of these.Jim is correct they came on 10 series in 1961.The one pictured with upright ball handles would get dirt in latches and come unhooked usually springing or breaking it.Later they recommended to drill small holes and a special pin took care of that. The balls latches were replaced by levers that worked fine.As for value if good w/balls $250+ levers $350+ never cast that came w/late 4020s $400+.There is a great guy that refurbishes these to like new.712-660-8447 Gene.I buy everyone I see as there is a waiting list .

Jim usually they bring from $4/500.There are a about 3 or 4 different ones. The cast Cat II only with levers is hardest one to find.

I concur. If you can get one bought for under 500, you're doing good. I've got some of each in my quick hitch hoard, not including what's on each tractor. Have around 6 or so total of the 4020 cast style hitches. I won't use a tractor without a QH so when I see one, it usually goes home with me.

NewGen that's quite a collection .The after market ones usually bring $200/$300 and are easy to come by.I usually keep my parts inventory at a minimum .[To Jim ]some of the newer ones the third link bolts on and some the center section has a higher and lower setting and some don't have levers but yours would sell around $500 at auction.I have bought them for 1/2 that just depends.

SturdyBuilt and Jeffers are pretty popular just not JD they work as good or better. To find a nice lightweight[85#] older JD CATII straight one not damaged or welded is not easy.

Condition is everything. The inner workings are notorious for being broken or loose from wear. Also if the pins are missing it makes a big difference because new pins from deere can really add up. Have had to make covers before on the 4020 cast hitches due to being mangled up or missing. The only deere hitch I really don't care much for is the kind that came on the 5020 originally and then 4520/4620. They are cat 11/111 and all cast. Some have balls and later ones had levers.
