Quick Hitches

Hello friends. I'm looking into quick hitches recently, and I was wondering if you guys used them/liked them. Anyone make their own? I'd be really interested in doing that. I really like the idea of a quick hitch, but not sure I'm willing to drop a few hundred bucks on pure laziness.

Most of my friends/neighbors have quikhitches and
really like them.I dont.I dont have two pieces of 3
point equipment that are the same. That fact pretty
much negates the use of a quikhitch for me.

Depends on your implements - some are non-standard width; or have a top-link pin with obstructions that don't work well with a quick hitch; or you use a post hole digger or backhoe that will not work with a quick hitch; or you have pto equipment that has a too-short pto shaft & won't work with the extra 2-4 inches the quick hitch moved the implement back; or you have a very heavy implement and moving it back the 2-4 inches makes it hard to pick up/ control.

If none of the above is a bother, you likely will really like a quick hitch. Most of the above is not normally a problem, only the obstruction for the top link on poorly designed implements is the most common hassle.

Harbor Frieght often has a sale on their light-weight one for $70 bucks or so, can't build one for that. Farm sales they often go for less than $200 but those are typically the bigger cat 2 size.

For hobby farms, their benefit is questionable...too many variables with small equipment, which can usually be man-handled into position for hookup. But for 20 foot mounted FC, 8 row cultivator, 4-6 bottom plow.......well worth the expense. It"s basically back, raise and lock...then go. Saves countless trips in/out of the tractor. Both of mine paid for themselves decades ago.

Mine never comes off my White. I can go from the modlboard plow to the chisel plow by just flipping two levers. Holds the arms from banging around the rest of the time.

I have at least five of them like others said very handy changing from one implement to another, the one above I just put on and do not have correct pins in it yet

I've got such a miss-mash of equipment they don't work for me.
I've been thinking of converting my lower links to the euro style
quick clamp ball / latch system. Some old tractors have them too.
Balls all stay on the equipment.
