Had a bit of a mishap with the 276 baler...went down a steep hill with a full load ( ya think I'd know better)...well everything jackknifed and bent up the tounge.....cutting it all apart to fix and ran out of cut-off wheels, went to harbor freight and bought a ten pack....cheap $9?....one disc lasted two 5ah batteries in the grinder chopping it all apart..much better than the Diablos I started with

HF can be hit or miss. I’ve been both amazed and disgusted with some of their stuff. Right now I’m doing carpentry work. A few years ago, I bought a Hercules battery-powered circular saw from them. My co-worker, who is 74 and has been a carpenter for 54 of those years, was really amazed at the saw blade that came with the saw. It lasted 10 times longer than any replacement blades available at the local hardware store and we always get name-brand blades. He’s also been impressed with the Hercules saw and it’s all we use for cuts, unless we use a corded saw for the really long rip cuts.

I also tried those on sale cutoff wheels the other day and found them better than whatever name brand i had bought at Home Depot.

I was never a fan of Harbor Freight and have done my share of bad mouthing them here.
On the other hand, I live about a half mile away from one and when I need something Now it's quicker than going the TWO miles to Home Depot or Menards. ( I really do live that close to all 3 stores)
I buy the 10 packs of cutting wheels at HF and they are as good as those from the big box stores.

I have a Metabo grinder. Hands down the best I’ve found for running a cutoff wheel. I usually buy the Metabo brand wheels when I can find them, they last much longer than anything else I’ve used.
I’ve bought some cheap ones and they just turn to dust after one small cut. I may have to give HF a try though.

They have upped their game though. Their Icon line especially is nothing to laugh at. I bought a cheap 4” grinder there awhile back, just to have an extra where I wouldn’t be having to change attachments so often. I’ve abused that thing and can’t kill it. If it lays down tomorrow I’ve got my money’s worth.

I have quite a few Hercules-branded battery powered-tools. Their warranty is as good as the competitor’s. I use the tools for a living and I use them hard. I’ve had two batteries fail on me. The replacement was as simple as “Yea, go to the rack and pick up your replacement…”, and then they would check the serial number to make sure the defective battery hadn’t run past the warranty date.
I do realize the company started out with their $5.99 socket sets which were complete junk, but their top-of-the-line stuff is much better. And, of course, their prices have inched closer to their competitors.
You still see a few products in the stores with a terrible 90-day warranty. And their returned products are marked down, but virtually have no warranty. You just have to be super careful with what you buy.

Yes, their prices have creeped up some, but I think still a good deal for what you get. I was at my day job and needed to cut 2- 1 1/4” grade 8 bolts. Flammable situation so I couldn’t use the cutoff so I asked for a sawsall. Guy brought out a Hercules and I almost laughed. Ended up going through several Milwaukee Torch blades but the Hercules had zero problems, even had plenty of battery left when I was done. I was impressed.

The worst curoff or abrasive saw wheels are DeWalt. Trash-worthy right out of the package. Some of the best are from Harbor Freight.

Yes I the same way, they are better then they was but still pick and choose what I buy. If it’s going to be something I use every so often I may buy HF other wise I buy name brand.
