R DEERE SPEEDS

WHAT ARE THE THE SPEEDS OF THE GEARS,& HOW DO THEY COMPARE TO A 720? THANKS

Tractor Data.com, has that information under Transmissions for each tractor.

The "R" has a fast 1st gear..I would say 1st on the "R" is about like 2nd on the 720...
The "R" will pull every bit as much as a 720 "in the field", but is hindered when at tractor pulls by the fast 1st gear..
Very respectable power (for a 45 HP tractor)..!!!!
We ran a Rack setting of 17 on the "R" with very good results..not too much smoke until the front wheels were ready to lift, then red flame out the stack..impressive..

an R should have the same 1st gear speed as a 720 unless the 720 has the creeper gear. the R should outpull a 720 on any track due to the longer stroke & much better weight distribution when hooked to a sled. Im moving so i cant find my manuals right now for actual #s.

My 720 has the creeper gear..not sure if all 720's have it but I assume they do...
The 70 has a fast 1st gear...
From punning both an "R" and my 720 plowing with 4x16", they seem pretty close in power.
3rd gear on the 720 and 1st and 2nd on the "R"..
Sure can FEEL the Power of each of them..!!

The creeper gear as you call it was the standard gear in the 720/730. The high speed trans was a option. The R was only 49 hp, and most of the time a 720 will out pull a R...I see it a lot, my 630 will out pull them both. but there is lots of factors in pulling
