radiator cleaning

I have a 1948 dc that over heats after time. I need to clean the radiator. Is there a way to clean radiator with out rodding it. Thanks for all your help.

I use a product called Permatex radiator cleaner it has an acid in it, works great on these older systems but do not use it where aluminum is, it will EAT it

Be careful of things with too much acid in them. They work but... they need to be dumped out as per the directions or they eat the seal retainer spring in the water pump.

Don't ask me how I know...

you mention grape vinegar???? The only Vinegar in aus is white or brown.can i use it on a 1594's radiator if not whats the best alternative.

We have used cascade powder dish washing soap work good for us but we had oil in the antifreeze good luck
