radiator leak

My radiator on my 541 is leaking in the front bottom right hand corner from the seat do I need to drain it to fix it? Is it better to try and solder it or try JB Weld?

Is it leaking from the radiator tank, or the core? If it were me, Id pull it and take it to the radiator shop.

Its from the core I hate to pull it I just changed all the fluid in september

If you can see and reach where the leak is
Permatex Fuel Tank and Radiator Repair Kit will work Its an epoxy stick that you knead like dough and it hardens fast. Jbweld would not work it takes to long to dry and runs right off the repair area. Permatex will stay were you put it. $6.99 . On a pin hole I have even used a screw with a soft Thin washer if its not a crack.

I did fix one with Jb weld but had to remove drain create dams tape one side and it still migrated places were I did not need it even laying down. Plus it took 2 application's PAIN never again. Only because the nearest radiator shop is 100 miles away. I live in a small town of 3000 people not much here. Good luck with it Byron

Thanks this is my first radiator repair job I have one more after this but have the radiator removed on that tractor. Did you get your SC running?

Not yet but it is looking better than I thought thanks for asking.. I could just tell you really didn't want to pull that radiator. I hope it works out Byron.

How bad is it leaking? Did you try any type of leak seal in the radiator? I have used ground ginger to stop radiator leaks with very good results.
