radiator

looking for info about a radiator for a 806, I bought a 806 with out a radiator and im having a hard time finding the right one, everything ive found says theres only one radiator for both the gas and diesel , ordered one and it doesn't fit, did some more research, the motor is a 263 which is a 706 motor , the serial # says f806 21216 ,I don't have the original radiator to measure, the guy I bought the tractor from said he brought the radiator in to have it tested and it failed so he just gave it to the shop for scrap for their time, anyone else ever run into this or have any info ? thanks

Measure the dimensions then you will know what it needs.

What about it did not fit?

The 263 is externally identical to the stock 301 gas engine that would normally be in an 806, so you don't need a special radiator.

CaseIH parts book lists two different radiators, one for diesel/LP and the other for gas. Part number is 383950R91. Anyone can look it up on the caseih website.

If that's the one you got and it doesn't fit then you they sent you the wrong radiator, or you're doing something wrong, or you don't really have an 806.

The radiator I bought was the one for the 806, it just
fit into the casting for the width but the bolt holes
don"t line up for the mounting clips, off by a couple
inches. And when I have the radiator sitting on the
bottom the top of the radiator would be as high as
the hood tin with the filler neck sticking out about 3
inches. Is it possible to put a 706 front end and
motor onto a 806 trany and rear end?

Sounds like a 706 front end on an 806 rear end.

An 806 grille has cast iron vertical bars with an IH logo at the top of the grille casting, while a 706 just has a white screen with the logo in the middle of the screen.

That would also explain why your tractor has a 263 engine.

...and to reply to my reply to my reply, YES, a 706 front end can be bolted to an 806 rear end. Mechanically the two tractors are almost identical.
