RE: 1175 transmission

Well I figured out the issue with that transmission. I believe the picture tells all. Thank you to those who help with information.

That is a first for me! I have seen those sleeves become disconnected from the fork and stop the shifters because they stay in a position that locks the detent balls. While you have it apart it would be a good idea to check those roll pins
 
Thanks for revealing the cause. I think the term I used in my list of possible causes was jammed detent. LOL
 
And u were correct on that, what could have caused the amount of pressure to break that casting? The sleeves are in place, it will be interesting to see what he finds on tear down. The shifting and the lock mechanism for the spools is at the shift fork area, the detent sleeves should have no pressure on them.
