Thanks, Rod. I was worried if this was a common occurrence or not. All the planet gears felt great in the one from the donor tractor so I didn't disassemble it and inspect them. I also notice when I removed the shaft of the gear that had no bearing in it, the split pin that holds the shaft in place was also broken. It appeared to have been sheared into and the shaft had spun in the carrier.(quoted from post at 21:03:23 02/22/19) I have seen the bearings failing causing pin damage but never
seen a gear with no trace of one. Could be the needle retainer
broke and just allowed everything to fall out. More than likely a
freak failure that you could not have prevented anyway. Rod.
