I think I have seen one. A diary farmer and collector about 20 miles from me has a SM with blank spaces in the grill where the large cultivator holes are on the SMTA. This would be Haverill, MA. It's been years since I looked at it and can't remember the tag number.

Anyway, the first production SMTA wasn't assembled until the middle of February 1954. Anything prior to that, in Model year '54, would be a '54 SM.

Never saw a 1954 super M,I have seen a 1953 super M.I tried for years to buy 1954 super M stage two from neighbor down the road from me,but he wouldn't sell. When he passed away I tried to buy it from family. One day when coming home from feed mill all the machinery was being loaded on junk truck I nearly cried,so I stopped to see if I could purchase it from the junk man he sad no dice. Then I pulls out my wallet and peeled out ten 100.00 bills, his reply was I can't locked in at 100.00 a ton.Well that was 20 years past moved on from that.Scott
