Mine runs fine without a pump.
That air cleaner looks good. Was that part of the Funk kit or did you add it on? Mine has witness marks where something was removed from the three holes in the extension. Mine does fine when running the backhoe. It is when it is loaded with dirt while in gear that the fuel can't keep up.
