On July 9, 2009 I posted a help (71.158.222.210)request about my gas 706 Farmall brakes and hydraulic problems. "bc" answered with some helpful suggestions. bc asked me to post back what I found out. Here goes. The hydraulics were simple. Change the filter and clean the screen was part 1. The second part was getting the Factory owners manual which described how the 3 point control worked. When I put the speed control lever for the 3 point in the fast position the hydraulics worked fine.
The brakes needed a rebuild- discs worn out and caked in greasey dirt. plus 3 of 4 springs were broken on the problem right side. Put in the new parts after cleaning uip things and right brake workes fine.
The left brake had been rebuilt (I think) just before I bought it and the adjusting screw was set out to far. Turned it in all the way then backed it out 2 clicks reassembled the (new) parts I found when I took it appart. and things are now good with the left brakes.
Both the brakes and the hydraulic were fixed by the KISS principle. Keep IT Simple...
Thanks bc for the help
