Nothing you can get will fix a sidewall crack/break unless you can find somebody that still will do a section in one. So as for your comment about 3rd world things, poor do poor things. So it might as well be run or changed with a newer better tire.

One thing I learned was back in the depression & WW2 whan tires were scarce they all
had tubes in them. When a tube got ripped up too bad to fix, they filled the tire with
oats added water & the next day they could drive on it again. I hope I never see times
that tough!

Fix it right, get some Bowes crack seal
from a mom and pop tire shop. It's made
to fill cracks in sidewalls. We used
dozens of tubes in the 23 years I owned my
tire shop.

Same guys that complain about how nobody fixes anything anymore, and criticize mechanics for being "parts changers," look down their noses as these guys doing ACTUAL REPAIRS. I just don't get it.

Those guys are FIXING, not just changing out parts for new. They're working, hard, earning their way in the world. They have skills and knowledge, and are putting them to use to save people money and deal with parts not being available. What they aren't doing is complaining that they can't get anything done because they can't get parts because a certain person is occupying a position in government.

My take on the parts changers is. Who wants to spend what most shop's labor rate is to have someone spend the time to diagnose the problem when they can replace the part and you're on your way. I think with the newer stuff it's way beyond me to fix it.
