I noticed your post for a hard-to-find part. I too have a ford 5500, 1968. I too am looking for a number of parts, and am interested as to whether you ever were able to track down a converter, and whether you might have found a good used parts source. I know of one equipment junkyard around Harrisburg PA that is supposed to be parting a 5500. If you want their name/number let me know, and I will look it up.
