Re: How does the governor work on the 148, 159, 188 201 ga

Its sure worth a shot with the lube/penetrant but it didn't work for me. When the shaft seal goes it becomes a pipeline for water to the bearings and beyond. That's got to be one of the most mickey mouse governor systems in the business.
 
Not a word of disagreement on the design but works good when all is well. I have a customer who washes his tractor regularly and his would freeze quickly. I believe that lack of use is worse than daily or regular use as even a oil mist present in all engines could alleviate the drying out of the needle bearing. The real problem is that we are seeing these tractors being purchased for resto and many have sat a long time. mEl
