Re:JD350B injector pump help

Hay guys thanks for the help. No I did not replace the check valve when I rebuilt the pump. It looked clear and the check ball seemed to move freely. I did get a new one and replaced it. The old one still looked clean and the check ball moved freely but after poking it around several time it looked as if it may be sticking one in a while. The machine started and ran fine (only ren it for a half hour though) so hopefully that was the problem Thanks again

Another way to confirm return fuel restriction is to loosten timing window screws while engine is loosing power or begining to stall, if speed picks up, return has restriction. Had an IH 706 282 doing the same thing, owner wanted to load on trailer, but kept stalling. Asked him to loosten timing cover, made a mess but got it loaded up. Repaired pump and drained fuel tank to remove return valve which is bottom of tank on 706 to clean. Glad you have yours repaired, lots to learn on this site.

just for info. When I purchased the check valve the dealer said to remove the teflon tape as there was a service bulletin from Stanadyne saying it could crack the cover and recommended using the liquid teflon in place of the tape
