The brakes were worthless on my MF-65, not knowing where to start I bought a repair manual for my tractor and it allowed me to fix it for the cost of the parts and a lot of my time. The manual can be purchased for only minutes of a real mechanic's shop time and will pay you other benefits.
 
They are drums. Much easier to fix than a MF65 with internal brakes. But, not easy moving the tire (even without fluid)
since the boom pole won't work..... unless you have 2 tractors!
